about

Heady aquatic brews from Ibises, made of Chicago heavyweights Nick Macri (Stirrup, Euphone) on bass, Dan Bitney (Tortoise. Isotope 217) on drums, and Steve Marquette (Ken Vandermark's Marker) on guitar. In The Swim comes from an improvised concert by the trio, mixed and edited by Casey Rice (Designer, Black Monument Ensemble), providing a sterling example of the experimentation coming out of Chicago's rich, deep jazz scene.

RIYL: free jazz, Chicago jazz, avant rock.
